The seed of Rose & Honey Apothecary was planted in 2000 when our matriarch, Sharon Elizabeth, best known as “Momma Tate” and “Momma Sharon” to all she loved, was diagnosed with stage four cancer. In just six months with the help of a community of healers and plant medicines she went into remission which lasted for the rest of her Earth years. The miracles of healing herbs and ancestral healing rituals sparked a new passion within her and inspired the next chapter of her life’s work.

Momma Tate became known as the herb lady and created recipes for skin and hair care, teas and supplements. As her daughter came of age the two became a team. Momma Tate stayed in the kitchen perfecting butters, teas, salves, and tinctures, while her daughter grew medicinal herbs, flowers, and vegetables in their home garden and foraged in the woods for native plants guided by the love and wisdom of the Ancestors. The best friend mother daughter duo shared a dream to open up a brick and mortar herb shop and cafe that would be, among many things, a home and respite for those seeking peace, healing, and community; Rose & Honey Apothecary is the first bloom of this dream.
